I forget how much fun BIG families can be! When my friend asked me to photograph her family of 18, I was so excited! I knew right away what to do with them. "The Golden Couch" had to come out of storage lol!! I think its pretty awesome to have a cool piece of furniture out in the woods, parks, beach and anywhere you are not expecting to see it. Families of more than 5 members can be tricky and most photographers avoid doing these sessions, specially outdoors. WELL, NOT I! hahhaha! I welcome the challenge. I think its like a big puzzle that I get to put together in a matter of seconds. Move someone here, shift someone the other way etc.. it's so cool!
Right now I'm offering family sessions for $600. This offer comes with 1 - 2 hours of unlimited takes and to 2 different locations of your choice, 1 20x24 wall portrait and 5 sheets for up to 8 people ($10 each additional). Not only do I take the photos of the group as a WHOLE but I also do breakdowns of each individual families, their children and whatever you would like. Sessions are now available for August, September and October. I'm offering this deal now because come winter and November things get a little crazy around here. You could use these photos for your Christmas cards!!! Most people don't think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving is over and by then, things are so crazy that squeezing in family portraits can get a little complicated.
Here's a few of Venessa and her family!
THE WHOLE CREW TOGETHER!
THE SIBLINGS :)
AND EACH INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES!
We didn't stop there though. There were a few other poses of the entire group, grandparents with all the grandchildren, couples etc... Overall, it turned out to be an AWESOME session and I'm so happy to be the one who gave them these memories. It's nice that everyone made an effort to make these portraits happen. Some of them came from 45 minutes away and some from out of town! Getting together a big group can be so hard.. Believe me, I know! My family and I have tried for over 2 years already and it seems impossible! hahahha! If you can do it, I say Do It before life happens.
